Medford Lakes Athletic Association is proud to announce a new program to enhance Medford Lakes non-organized athletic activities. The Community Action Program or "CAP" has been developed to address areas within Medford Lakes, like our parks and playgrounds, that need renovation or repairs to keep our community active. CAP will identify areas annually and begin to raise funds for the estimated cost of the project. The funds will be raised with donations and work done by volunteers.
The first CAP has already started; the Wilson Field Playground rehabilitation. The Wilson Field Playground has needed a little TLC for some time and MLAA's CAP is in the process of identifying what needs to be upgraded and replaced to allow future generations of Medford Lakes families to enjoy the park. If you are interested in helping or making a donation please contact Robert Burton at 609-744-4508 or rjburton@live.com
After the installation of the new fencing around the playground area we have moved to phase 2 of the project: Playground System acquisition and installation. We currently have a RFP out to GameTime and have applied for the “Everybody PlaysMore Grant” through GameTime. We have also looked at two other companies and will be making the purchase in the next 30-60 days. We are hoping to get the system installed before December 1, 2011.
After the system is installed Phase 3 will start in the spring which consists of landscaping the area.
We will keep you posted on the progress and thank you all for your support and donations!
